Majd Alwan  - May, 2007

Medical Automation Research Center

Recent advances in microelectronics and wireless communications have enabled the development of low cost, low power, high integration and small size wireless sensor nodes, which can be networked into wireless sensor networks, to implement some new and exciting tasks. Wireless sensor networks represent a significant improvement from traditional sensor networks. Sensors can communicate and cooperate with each other via wireless means. These networks have the added advantages of faster deployment and reduced deployment cost, particularly into existing structures.
